Unveiling 'The Pursuit': A Captivating Journey Through Tel Ganeshan's Masterpiece – A Book Review

The Pursuit by Tel Ganeshan Book Review

How to achieve the American dream?

Isn't the dream all about racing ahead? It is about buying the things that you want without thinking about others. But now the dream has changed. The way to achieve those dreams has to change.

Let's take a look at this book. When there is a common problem, we unite despite not knowing much about the other person. We know how to fight and how to distinguish between right and wrong. When there is a common problem, we always have the thought of fighting against it.

Then what are the things that separate us during other times?

How do we unite and fight for a good cause despite the differences? We have an election coming up in 2024. There are thoughts about the party and ideology we have to vote for. What do the Democratic and Republican parties want?

If we get to know about their common goal... We can unite and fight to fulfil our needs. Tel Ganesan talks about this belief in his book 'Pursuit' He belonged to our land and had dreams of his own. The knowledge and tradition of India was awesome.

To spread this far and wide, he goes to America and starts his business which sees its share of wins and losses. He has a particular mission in politics. There might be a person we dislike. There might be a person whose values are different from ours. But we all have things that we agree upon. Why not unite at this common point? Our body's DNA can store memories for 4 generations.

Our tribal instincts include safety and fear of losing the things that we have. The fact that people are different would have been our thought before 14 generations. The tribal thought is within all of us. I can have an affinity towards my tribe You might have towards yours. All of us might have tribal thoughts of our own.

That thought gives us the survival instinct in life. I do not have to fight with my opponent But maybe I have to fight for survival. That tribal thought is always within us. If we accept that we all have this thought. We have to trust others beyond this tribal feeling. Only if we trust the other tribe, fighting for a common cause is possible. If we earn the trust of the other tribe.

The tribe will grow bigger. The tribal community would not have been bigger. Probably a gang in school at the beginning. And then a gang in college. The numbers increased as we formed gangs in various phases of life.

First, it was a tribe based on religion, caste, place country and now the whole world. If we do things which give us the trust that the whole world is ours...

we can create a difference in this world. There was a lot of politics involved in the creation of America. and a lot of problems and injustice too. When there is a creation of a tribe when a settlement happens or when there is a separation. There would have been a lot of problems involving caste, community and gender. There have been phases in history where the trust has been broken.

Talking about the pain and hurt is important. Why is it important?

To make others understand the pain. And others can also talk and make me understand the pain. Talking about the pain is important for better understanding and empathy. When there is vengeance in our based on the past it would create problems in achieving our goal. With more division, sub-identities are created.

In India, it is South Indian and North Indian. In South India, the division might be Telugu or Tamil. Among Tamils, the distinction might be based on whether you are a book lover or a cinema lover. In cinema, the divide may be based on the actor actor we like. There are a lot of dividing factors.

Even about caste, There are sub-divisions. about higher, middle and lower sections of people. In a house, the division might be because of gender which leads to problems. When our identity is created based on division.

Achieving our common goal and common goodness becomes very difficult. This distinction is based on our DNA and our history. The narratives are created around us during the different phases of our lives. Media also plays a huge role in creating additional identity.

As more identities are created The divisions get extended. When media sets narratives to divide people how can we embrace people belonging to other caste communities or countries. There is democracy, monarchy etc. Democracy gives more freedom to people. whereas freedom is restricted in other ideologies. As the leader is elected by the people in a democracy They are answerable.

We need resources to monitor the activities of the chosen leader. So, we need a proper media channel. The media shouldn't be partial to any party or ideology. The media should provide information as to whether the elected person lives up to his promise.

If they don't live up to the promise they can be questioned in a democratic country. The democratic country thrives on mutual respect. To be a leader, he or she has to earn the trust of the people despite their differences. Becoming a leader is not the end of the process. Information has to be proper to monitor the progress and vote accordingly in the next election.

Media plays a huge role in dividing the public. If media focuses on connecting the public the world will be different. The online algorithms are further dividing us. The algorithm is based entirely on what you like. But in a democratic country, I should be aware of what the government is doing for me. But if the internet shows only the things I will be living under an illusion.

But when I got to know that the government was not functioning as per promise and was against the people's interest I felt betrayed. In a democratic country, the public always has power. Realising that power is important. You can vote for any ideology as per your wish.

But you have to realise the importance of your vote. People from various parts of the world settle down in America because of the possibility of better economic growth. Opportunities will be expanded. But when people who chase the Great American Dream are ill-treated because of racism. It halts the growth of a nation. Immigrants bring the values of their country.

Different perspectives. When there is input from various groups with different perspectives. it will be a great opportunity to build a better nation. All of us want our lives to be better. So, we wouldn't want to lower ourselves. Those who want their lives to be better have their own skills and dreams.

They break their barriers and come out of their comfort zone. In such cases, motivating the immigrants would help to build a better nation. We feel happy when people of Indian origin make it big. When the brightest minds across the globe go to America to achieve the Great American Dream.

When such people are united and embraced it will be good. Entrepreneurs bridge the differences and thrive on ideas and passion. They have the drive to achieve. They can pull in like-minded people to find a solution to a problem. You need to find solutions to the problems of the world.

Find solutions to the problems of your society. Use your minds for that. Apart from the monetary profit you get from that. The benefits in people's minds and lives will be continuously reflected. If the bright minds contribute to the society through social entrepreneurship.

More than achieving individual goals and dreams... contribution to the society as a whole would be even better. Voting can be done based on the benefits to the locality if making a choice based on comprehensive policies is hard.

Take decisions from the grassroots level. and then vote. Vote based on ideas and solutions provided to problems. This will work out in your house, your street and your area. then city, state and so on. Then we can aim for solutions to bigger problems.

When problems are addressed at the grassroots level We can all come together. Garbage in my area is a common problem irrespective of which party or ideology the people are aligned with. If I can find a solution to the problem. We can see past our differences, beliefs and values.

Icebreaker By Hannah Grace Book Review

Icebreaker By Hannah Grace Book Review  Icebreaker by Hannah Grace, is a book that's been everywhere lately. I will do a spoiler-free review, so if there's ever a spoiler coming up, there will be a spoiler alert.  Basically, I'll talk a little bit about what the book is about, share my general thoughts, discuss what I liked and didn't like, and then give a final rating. If that sounds like something you want to watch, feel free to do so. I really appreciate it, and fingers crossed that this is not too chaotic. So, here's the book. You've probably seen this book somewhere; it was really fun to annotate. It looks really pretty, although you might not be able to see it well. I won't hold the book like this the whole time, so I'll put a picture up of "Icebreaker" by Hannah Grace. The book is about a female figure skater named Anastasia, practising at University with the goal of going to the Olympics. Nathan, a hockey player on the university team,

The Courage To Be Disliked Book Summary

The Courage To Be Disliked Book Summary Hello good people of the internet, welcome to a very special episode of the Unlearning Playground podcast. Today, what I'm doing is I'm reviewing one of my favourite books. And you know, with a guy like me, I think you would expect me, when I say that I'm reviewing one of my favourite books, to review one of the books that are placed in this section here, within this section.  I think there are at least a dozen books that I've devoured multiple times over the years and have loved over so many years. But still, when I chose to review a book today, I decided to review what is probably the most recent addition to the list of my favourite books. And it is this book, "The Courage to Be Disliked" by Ishiro Kishimi and Fumitake. I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing these names correctly, by the way. These are Japanese names. But this is a beautiful, beautiful book. And I think what I love the most about this bo

One Day Life Will Change by Saranya Umakanthan Book Review

One Day Life Will Change by Saranya Umakanthan Book Review  The world is functioning normally as always. But we form our own perspective of this world based on our experiences. If a family member behaves a certain way, we assume that many people are like that. We tend to judge the ways of the world based on our past experiences. Especially when we have experienced a breakup or heartbreak we find it difficult to trust people. This book is all about how trusting people can change our lives. Saranya Umakanthan has written a book titled One Day, Life Will Change. We have already reviewed one of her books for our Book Show. This book is a National Best Seller. Our heroine is struck by a turbulent marriage. But breaking up the marriage is a big deal. Just like how we don't know what we want. we have never learnt to say No to things that we don't want right from our childhood. Just like how the mother feeds the kid more than he needs even if he says no. We tend to stay in a toxic rela
